THE icengineworks^TM EXHAUST HEADER FABRICATION TOOLS

These tools have been designed to greatly simplify the cutting of pre-bent J- and U-shaped (preferred) metal tubing.
After your design is complete, create its recipe and metal shopping list by filling out the corresponding U-Bend Metal Control Sheet (a pad is included in each set of icengineworks^TM modeling block sets, or download it below-PDF file). Then, use the icengineworks^TM Tube-Cutting Spacers to quickly mark all the metal tubing sections according to the sections in your model. The Tube-Cutting Spacers are precision machined from solid high-performance, long lasting DELRIN® plastic. These bullet-proof blocks are designed to take and survive the abuse of a busy shop, including accidental blade cuts, etc. Later, use the aluminum icengineworks^TM pivoting table PIV1000 (designed to work with 9"-throat or more vertical band saws equipped with a rip fence-shown here on a 14" Wilton Model No. 8201) along with the Tube-Cutting Spacers to get clean cuts that are always perpendicular to the centerline. This means that with good quality bends, those cuts will be of circular profile instead of ovals allowing easier butt-to-butt welds. The icengineworks^TM Tube-Cutting Spacers firmly hold down the metal tubing section during the actual cut and can be locked to any position around the bend. Once locked in, the whole assembly slides along the rip fence brining the metal tubing center into the blade's path for a perfect cut.
